RECfinancial are delighted to be recruiting exclusively for our client, in the search for an experienced Management Accounts Assistant on a Permanent basis.
Based in North Leicestershire, the company is a European distributor. Providing one of the most extensive and diversified ranges of products and solutions in their market.
So, what's the purpose of the role?

  • This role is across two areas, Customer rebate & brokerage payments and accruals (role
  • responsibility) and Stock accounting (role jointly responsible with the Stock accountant part
  • time role).
  • You'll be responsible for all customer rebate & customer brokerage payments, with the requirement to monitor & report on monthly accruals to the commercial teams.
  • Responsible jointly with the stock accountant for control and monitoring all stock and related
  • control accounts for UK and overseas to comply with financial objectives and statutory
  • requirements.

What are the main aspects of the role?

  • Co-ordinate the administration of customer rebate payments, resolving any queries and checking accruals.
  • Provide month end accruals for customer rebates and customer brokerage.
  • Ensure stock movement accounts are reconciled, monitored and maintained.
  • Complete thorough investigation and analysis of reconciling differences with corrective actions to ensure cost of stock is accurately recorded and maintained.
  • Prepare, analyse and investigate fluctuations on weekly stock reports, free form credit and re-charge reconciliations.
  • Provide commentary as required and distribute to key personnel and management to provide information for effective business decisions.
  • Reconcile, report and explain budget variances for the cash discounts received in

both UK and overseas to facilitate month end reporting.

  • Authorise and report on stock adjustments. Reconcile stock/accounting reports to the general ledger to ensure stock levels are reported correctly both within financial and warehouse systems. At month end provide reconciliations of stock revaluation.
  • Analyse aged stock accounts to ensure sufficient provision available. Identify large areas of aged stock and liaise with Warehouse Admin Managers to ensure aged stock is investigated and actioned appropriately.
  • Prepare and enter month end journals for both the UK & overseas to reconcile balance sheet accounts in preparation for authorisation and review to comply with statutory audit requirements.
  • Ad hoc tasks as and when required

Who do we want?

  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a Financial/Management accounting role
  • Someone studying for a professional qualification (part qualified)
  • Possibly a University Graduate who has accounting degree
  • Have attention to detail / high level of accuracy.
  • Able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to be always discreet and confidential with aptitude for dealing with sensitive data.
  • Team player
  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting
  • Have good numerical skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Accruals/Reconciliations etc
  • Advanced Excel to ideally include Macros/Pivots/VLookups
