RECenergy are proud to be supporting one of the UK's leading metering employers for their recruitment campaign to source Qualified Dual Fuel Meter Installers on their long-term contracts with British Gas, SSE, Shell, Total Gas and others.

MPAN 10 (Northern Home Counties / East Anglia)
The Company
You will be working for one of the UK's largest metering companies with single fuel and dual fuel engineers working on contracts nationwide. They aim to keep work as close to your home post code as possible, however this is dependent on available work.
The Standard Earnings

£31,365 Minimum expected earnings outside M25
£4,800 Achievable Health and Safety Bonus (£400 x 12 months)

£34,501 Minimum expected earnings with London Weighting
£3,136 London Weighting Allowance if you live inside or within 14 miles of the M25

Standard Working Hours and Overtime / On-call Earning Potential

Monday to Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm (expect to be at first job at 8.00am)

Overtime - Paid 1 month in arrears at the rates below.

Applicants Requirements

Applicants for these positions will need to be fully qualified dual fuel meter installers to the following standard:


  • Level 2 Diploma or ACS Gas Qualified for Meter installation

  • EUSR Registered

  • MOCOPA (previously/currently held)

  • At least 12 months post metering qualification work experience

  • Maximum 6 penalty points on your Driving Licence (manual transmission required)

Frequently Asked Questions
How will I be trained?
The company will train you to MOCOPA and Company standards at their training facility for a period of eight working days (Mon-Fri of Week 1, Mon-Wed of Week 2). This is followed by a further 7 working days shadowing an experienced engineer to see the "day-today" in action.
What are the travel requirements?
You will be asked to complete work within around 20-30 miles radius of your home address (10-20 miles in bigger cities). Your jobs will be booked as efficiently as possible within this area to minimise driving, and every effort will be made to ensure your first and last jobs are within a 30 minute drive of you.
Is this a Self-employed position?
No, This is a permanent PAYE position directly

Are there any career progression opportunities?
The company is looking at offering up-skilling to EV for their Dual Fuel engineers in the future.
Regarding other development, we currently have a management development program which several of our Field Delivery Leads are currently going through.
There are a lot of opportunities to progress within the company and all roles are advertised internally to give current employees the chance to apply.
It is worth mentioning, that many of the company's Team Leader's, Performance Managers & Technical Assurance team began their careers as field engineers/dual fuel meter installers.
