Reporting into the Senior General Manager, this role would suit a Transport Operations Manager, Transport Manager or Head of Transport with experience of managing fast-paced and dynamic operations.
This is a very high-profile and key appointment for the operation so they are seeking a high-performing senior Logistics leader.
THE ROLE:
- Management of transport operations for the site - totalling a fleet size of circa 200+ vehicles (Artics + other vehicles).
- A challenging & highly interesting role in a high-profile operation.
- Direct Management responsibility of a senior management team of 6 people.
- Indirect Management responsibility for an overall team of over 150 people (including drivers).
- Management of a budget of £35 million P&L.
- Managing a detailed client relationship - including Commercials, Transport Projects & CI initiatives.
- Engagement, Coaching and Mentoring of your team.
- Compliance and Leglislation adherence.
- Tactically managing the Transport function on a daily basis (alongside your management team) whilst also strategically looking at the future of the operation within the next 1-3 years.
THE PERSON:
- Transport Operations Manager, Transport Manager or Head of Transport ideally with experience within the 3PL, FMCG or Mult-Temperature sectors.
- CPC International certification at minimum - ESSENTIAL
- Closed Book Transport Management experience - DESIRABLE
- P&L experience of at least £25 million - DESIRABLE
- Overall management responsibility for at least 150 heads or more within a Transport environment.
- Front-foot & hands-on leadership style.
- Able to think strategically & long-term as well as managing the Day to Day.
- Able to liaise from shop-floor to Board level.
- Keen to leave a lasting impact and legacy on the wider business.
- Able to commute to the Pontefract area on a daily basis.
