Lift Call-Out Engineer | Westminster & Central London
RECliftsis recruiting for aCall Out Engineerto join a major, Tier-1 lift contractor. This role is specifically for a specialist who thrives on the “sharp end” of the industry—diagnosing complex faults and performing passenger entrapments in one of the most prestigious areas of the capital.
This isn’t a standard maintenance round; this is a dedicatedCall-Out & Reactive Repairposition covering a high-profile portfolio inWestminster (SW1, W1, and WC postcodes).
Key Responsibilities
Emergency Response:
Prioritising and attending passenger entrapments and total lift failures.
Technical Troubleshooting:
Using advanced diagnostic tools and wiring diagrams to identify root causes of intermittent faults.
Minor Reactive Repairs:
Carrying out immediate safety-critical repairs to return units to service.
SAFed & Compliance:
Working closely with Insurance Inspectors and ensuring all reactive work meets SAFed (Safety Assessment Federation) and LOLER standards.
Communication:
Providing real-time digital updates to the 24/7 London control room.
Candidate Requirements
Mandatory:
NVQ Level 3 in Lift Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent J-Modules).
Expertise:
Exceptional electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills. You must be comfortable working on various controller types.
Experience:
Previous experience in a high-pressure call-out environment (minimum 3 years).
Professionalism:
High standard of personal presentation and communication—essential for the Westminster client base.
Logistics:
A full UK driving licence and a flexible approach to the standby rota.
