REClifts are now looking for a Lift Engineer specialising in roping passenger lifts. Their client is a lift engineering company based in the Midlands. They will consider newly NVQ 3 qualified Lift Engineers or Trainee Lift Installation Engineers / Lift Improvers. It's important to point out that the core experience required is the roping of passenger lifts, this is essential. The NVQ 3 is not a requirement for this role, but it is desirable where possible.
Responsibilities of the Lift Engineer:
- Identifying materials are correct for the task
- Rigging up the lift correctly and replacing the ropes
- Terminating ropes in their anchorages
- Replacing chains, diverters and traction sheaves as required
- Completing all training and work-related instructions in a timely manner
- Isolating lift power supply and LOTO
- Transporting materials and equipment safely from vehicle to job site
- Supervision of the Roping Engineer's Assistant
- Responsibility for the correct use and maintenance of PPE
Requirements of the Lift Engineer:
- Driving License - Essential
- NVQ 3 - Desirable
- NVQ 2 - Desirable
