Responsible For: Lift Engineers

REClifts is now looking for a Lift Team Leader or a skilled Senior Lift Engineer looking to Lead a team of Lift Service Engineers in the Leeds area.
The Role Purpose: To support the Team Manager in managing Lift Engineers to deliver a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and customer focussed responsive Lift Service Repairs Division.
Qualifications & Knowledge:

  • NVQ 3 equivalent in lift engineering or City and Guilds 1 & 2
  • A full UK Driving Licence - Essential
  • SSSTS/SMSTS - Essential
  • Relevant Health & Safety Qualification e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH - Desired
  • 18th Edition
  • Experience in supervising operational staff / Lift Engineers

Lift Team Leader Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Team Manager to deliver business improvement plans.
  • To undertake daily line management duties of staff within the team in accordance with all company policies and procedures ensuring that staff records are maintained using the appropriate documentation
  • To ensure that all operatives and sub-contractors are working to achieve the departmental key performance indicators, working in line with agreed Service Level Agreements, whilst striving to complete works on a right-first-time basis.
  • Assist in the development and review of appropriate risk assessments, ensuring that safe systems of work are implemented as necessary.
  • Provide daily supervisory duties to Lift Engineers including the provision of appropriate specialist lift engineering tools, spare parts, acquiring resources, and lift equipment.
  • Work remotely and autonomously on construction sites across the city.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are monitored on-site and recorded at all times.
  • Cost control within the team, ensuring the value of lift engineering work is recorded accurately
  • Provide advice and maintain an up-to-date expert lift industry awareness and knowledge
  • Assist with audits undertaken by relevant approved bodies.
  • Organising workloads to achieve maximum quality and productivity to deliver the service plan priorities.
  • Ensure contract management plans are adhered to, and assist with review meetings.
  • To undertake site visits and surveys to determine requirements and provide feedback as appropriate.
  • To train, coach, and mentor all Lift Engineers to ensure they achieve their full potential.
  • Carry out and oversee staff appraisals, team talks, and 1-2-1s within the lift engineering team. This ensures that all Lift Engineers feel motivated and engaged in the direction of the service department.
  • To investigate, and report on incidents and accidents to identify the cause and take corrective action to prevent further injury, adverse effects, or ill health from occurring.
